Constitution of The International Conference on Technology Education in the Asia-Pacific Region

Article I- General Provisions
Section 1: The name of this organization is the International Conference on Technology Education in the Asia-Pacific Region (hereafter referred to as the “ICTE”).
Section 2 : The ICTE is a professional group normally holding a biennial conference to promote communication and academic exchange.
Section 3 : The ICTE office shall be established at where the Board of Directors is located.
Section 4 : The ICTE is committed to promoting academic exchange among the ICE members and between the ICTE and other institutions or organizations
Article II- Board of Directors
Section 1 : The association or society of technology education professionals, which has the largest number of members in each Asia-Pacific country, is eligible for ICTE membership of the Board of Directors.
Section 2 : Members of the ICTE shall follow this Constitution to execute resolutions and to encourage their association or society members to participate in the ICTE conference.
Article III-Organization
Section 1 : The Board of Directors shall be appointed by the members of the ICTE.
Section 2 : The President, appointed by the Board of Directors, shall chair the next conference and represent the ICTE until the end of the conference held in his/her country.
Section 3 : The Secretary, appointed by the President, shall handle the general affairs of the ICTE under the direction of President.
Article IV-Meeting
Section 1 : The ICTE shall hold conferences.
Section 2 : The Board of Directors meeting shall be held during the conference to decide which member association or society will be in charge of the next ICTE conference. A special meeting may be called by the President for specific affairs.
Article V-Supplemental Provisions
This Constitution shall become official upon its approval by a majority vote of the Board of Directors in attendance at the 1997 conference. Amendments of this Constitution shall only be made at a Board of Directors meeting.

Remarks:
As time goes by, many associations has evolved, been renamed, or been succeeded by a new national umbrella organization over the years, the following associations are taking up the role of Board Member Association:

International Technology Education Association (ITEA) was established as the American Industrial Arts Association by William E. Warner in 1939.  In 2020, the association was changed its name to The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA)
Hong Kong Association for Design and Technology was renamed to Hong Kong Technology Education Association
